Brief:
Supermarket Derby is a two player game made for the University of Portsmouth Game jam (2016). It was made using the Unity engine (C#).
Themes:
- Canadian Masterchef (a list of episode names)
- Water Jousting
- Sickle cell anaemia
Description:
In this competitive two player game, both players have the objective to collect as much shopping as necessary within the set time limit. This is achieved by knocking over shelves and picking up the fallen shopping. Its also possible to steal the other players shopping by ramming into them at a high speed. Throughout the level there are obstacles such as larger shelves and other shoppers.
Role In Project:
In this project I was responsible for programming the player characters, ensuring that the game was easy to pick up and play whilst keeping a competitive objective. I made this possible by making the players easy to control but hard to master by implementing spin outs and over steer when the player is at a high speed. I also impletmented the tires trail marks and smoke trails that display when the player over steers.
