Brief:

Electric Sheep is a two player competitive game made for the University of Portsmouth Game jam (2015). It was made using the Unity engine (C#).

Themes:

  • The Hawaiian Hoary Bat
  • Whale horse (a rock/post-punk band from Chicago)
  • Henri Louis (Prince of Guéméné)

Description:

In this competitive two player game, both players are gradually losing their health and must collect batteries in order to stay charged. However, batteries are rare so each player has to be quick in order to collect them. Players can also try to hinder the other player by using power-ups (such as the laser or charging ram) which are hard to hit but do a lot of damage, so precision map awareness is necessary for winning the game.

Role In Project:

I was responsible for the core gameplay mechanics for the player. This included movement, jumping, momentum, power-ups (both what they do and using them) and health. I purposely made the character feel heavy as the character is a very fast robot and also to add more intensity and precision to the players actions.

I also worked on the particles effects seen when the player is low on health and the trail effects when moving.
